Getting Started
How do I get started with Fight or Flight?
Sign up for a free account, and we'll guide you through setting up your first emergency kit. The app will ask about your location and household to recommend the right scenarios and supplies for your situation.
Is there a mobile app?
Fight or Flight is a web app that works great on any device - phone, tablet, or computer. You can add it to your home screen for quick access. It even works offline once loaded!
What's included in the free plan?
Everything! Unlimited kits, all emergency scenarios, full inventory tracking, training & certifications, household sharing, emergency messaging, data export, daily quiz, and more. The Pro plan ($20/month) adds a personal AI preparedness agent for smart recommendations and coaching.
Kits & Inventory
What is a "Kit"?
A kit is a personalized emergency supply checklist for a specific purpose. Your Home Kit might have 2 weeks of supplies, your Car Kit has roadside emergency essentials, and your Go-Bag is what you grab if you need to evacuate in 5 minutes. We help you build and track each one.
How do I track what I already have?
Go to Inventory and add your supplies by location (home, car, office, etc.). The app tracks quantities, expiration dates, and alerts you when items are running low or about to expire.
What's a multi-tool?
A multi-tool is a compact device that combines several tools in one - like a Swiss Army knife or Leatherman. Typically includes pliers, knife, screwdriver, can opener, and more. Essential for any emergency kit!
What counts as "Important Documents"?
Keep copies of: passports, driver's licenses, birth certificates, insurance policies (home, auto, health), medical records, prescription lists, property deeds, bank account info, and emergency contacts. Store in a waterproof container.
Scenarios & Training
What are Scenarios?
Scenarios are step-by-step action plans for specific emergencies like power outages, fires, earthquakes, or winter storms. Each scenario walks you through what to prepare before, what to do during, and how to recover after.
How often should I practice drills?
We recommend practicing your most critical drills (fire evacuation, shelter-in-place) at least twice a year. The app helps you schedule and track when drills are due.
What certifications should I get?
Start with First Aid & CPR - it's the most universally useful. From there, consider fire extinguisher training, emergency preparedness courses, and water purification basics.
Account & Billing
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Settings or click the Upgrade button in the app. Pro is $20/month and includes a personal AI preparedness agent. You can cancel anytime.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings and click "Manage Billing" to access your subscription portal. You can cancel anytime and keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.
Can I export my data?
Yes! All users can export their data as CSV or JSON files. You can also print your checklists, scenarios, and contacts for offline use.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and secure authentication. Your data is stored on secure servers and is never sold to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Offline & Printing
Does the app work offline?
Yes! Once you've loaded the app, your data is cached locally. You can view your checklists and plans even without internet. Changes sync when you're back online.
How do I print my checklists?
Click the Print button on any kit, scenario, or your shopping list. The app formats everything nicely for paper - perfect for keeping in your actual emergency kit.
